Republican Jon Barela aired his first TV ad today in his quest to unseat Democratic incumbent Congressman Martin Heinrich. The ad focuses on the national debt and job losses.
In the ad Barela doesn’t mention his opponent by name, saying: “The Washington crowd doesn’t get it. Fifty-five thousand New Mexico jobs lost, and all they did was balloon the debt to over 13 trillion dollars.”
While this is Barela’s first foray into TV ads for this cycle, his opponent has already aired two ads.
Barela’s campaign told The Independent that the ad will begin airing today and will appear on network TV.
