Republican Attorney General candidate Matt Chandler raised nearly $115,000 according to campaign finance reports. His biggest donor was the state Republican Party, which gave $25,000 toward his bid.
Chandler finished the reporting period, which ran from June 25 to September 6, with $166,454.11 cash on hand. The campaign has no debt.
Chandler’s second biggest donor was a $20,000 donation from Myco Industries, an Artesia company whose president is Scott Yates. Harvey Yates, Jr., of Artesia, is the chairman of the Republican Party of New Mexico.
Chandler reported spending $71,985.80 in the fundraising period.
Chandler’s biggest expense was $15,000 to the Lincoln Strategy Group, the same company that created ads for Richard Berry when he ran for mayor. Chandler’s other large expenses included $8,991.39 for signs and stickers from Signs by Tomorrow and $5,500 to Republican pollster Public Opinion Strategies for polling.
Chandler’s opponent, incumbent Democrat Gary King, raised $275,000 in the same fundraising period.
