The Susana Martinez campaign released a poll today showing the Republican candidate for governor leading her Democratic rival Diane Denish by 9 percent.
This comes a day after a Denish internal poll showed Denish only 3 points behind Martinez.
According to the new poll, Martinez is leading Denish 51 percent to 42 percent. The poll of 900 likely voters was conducted from October 3 to October 5.
The poll finds that Martinez’s lead among the most enthusiastic voters is even higher. From the polling memo:
The Martinez lead grows among those expressing the highest level of interest in the election. Among voters who rate their interest level a “9″ or “10″ on the election interest scale, Martinez leads 53%-41%.
The poll was conducted by Public Opinion Strategies, a Republican polling firm.
