Barack Obama hopes to lure Hispanics with new group

By | 09.15.08 | 4:00 am

The Barack Obama campaign is once again showing their commitment to both New Mexico and Hispanics by launching Hispanics for Obama later today. And their most prominent Hispanic surrogate, Gov. Bill Richardson, will be the man launching the group.

From the press release:

Advancing its commitment to reaching out to every community throughout the state, Campaign for Change will launch Hispanics for Obama and open its 35th office in New Mexico in South Santa Fe. This new office will build upon the campaign’s grassroots efforts to engage communities and voters in every part of the state.

The office opening for the South Santa Fe Campaign Office will be at 2:30. The campaign office will open at 9:15 am, according to the Obama website.

It is unclear how this group will differ from Latinos for Obama, an already-established group that is part of the Obama campaign.

Obama himself will be in northern New Mexico on September 18.
