National Dems spend $116,000 in CD1

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee reported an expenditure in New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District today for $116,245. The money went towards media production and a media buy for the ad which will air against Republican congressional candidate Jon Barela.

This is not only the first expenditure of the cycle in the 1st Congressional District for the DCCC but also the first expenditure of any kind that is in opposition to Barela this cycle.

The buy also brings the amount of groups from independent groups to over a million dollars in the 1st Congressional District.

U.S. Rep. Martin Heinrich has faced $777,425 in independent expenditures opposing his re-election campaign so far. The largest of these expenditures is $331,036.91 from the American Future Fund.

The DCCC has also spent $436,061.93 in New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District
