Luján raises nearly twice as much as Mullins

Incumbent congressman Ben Ray Luján once again outraised his opponent in the 3rd Congressional District race according to reports filed with the Federal Elections Commission on Friday.

Luján raised $250,000 from July 1 to September 30 while Tom Mullins raised less than $130,000. Luján also maintains a large lead on cash-on-hand, $316,000 to $91,000.

Mullins spent $73,000 in fundraising period while Lujan took advantage of his large cash advantage and spent $340,000 in the period.

Mullins received two donations of $2,400 from the Republican Party of New Mexico. Monique Stone of Aztec, New Mexico also donated $2,400 to bring her total donations to the maximum of $4,800 per election cycle; individual donors can donate $2,400 for both the primary and general elections.

Luján received a $5,000 donation from the PNM Responsible Citizens Group, which brought donations from the group up to $15,000 for the cycle. The National Beer Wholesalers Association Political Action Committee also donated $5,000 to bring their total donations up to $12,500 for the entire cycle.
