Democratic gubernatorial candidate Diane Denish would welcome a visit by President Barack Obama for a campaign rally, KOB’s Stuart Dyson reports. Just last week, former President Bill Clinton campaigned for Denish in Española.

“Well certainly he’s been invited,” Denish told KOB. “His schedule is still open and in the next 14 days if he says ‘I want to come to New Mexico,’ we’re gonna welcome him here.”

Republican county party chair Rick Abraham said he thinks it is an act of desperation.

Denish has not led in any poll since May and the latest polls have shown Martinez from between nine and 12 points ahead of Denish.
