Steve Pearce leads Harry Teague by 9 points according to an internal poll—with a relatively high margin of error—released by the Pearce campaign. This is the largest lead that has been shown in any poll so far.

The poll conducted by the Republican pollster The Tarrance Group shows that Pearce leads 50-41.

The last public poll conducted by Research & Polling, Inc. for the Albuquerque Journal showed Pearce lead by just 1 percent.

Pearce is running to reclaim the seat he held before an unsuccessful run for Senate.

The poll was conducted Tuesday and Wednesday and polled 350 likely voters. The margin of error is +/- 5.2 percent.
