The Las Conchas fire has become the largest wildfire in state history, burning over 103,841 acres as of Friday afternoon, according to KOB.com.
The fire remains three percent contained, and there is no timetable for when residents of Los Alamos can return to their homes. The Los Alamos National Laboratory remains safe, according to officials.
The uncontained fire surpassed the 94,000 acre 2003 Dry Lakes Fire in Gila National Forest, but is still much smaller than the Wallow Fire in Eastern Arizona, which has burned 538,000 acres since May 29.
The fire continues to burn to the north and west, towards Santa Clara Pueblo.
