We all must face the fact that we need to cut back on use as well as pay for new clean energy. Carbon Cap and Trade has been tried in Europe and it hasn't really worked. Any technology that might seriously be considered to replace coal requires a national technology investment. Taxing individual power companies who pass that on to unprepared consumers who can barely afford to pay their utility bills now is no answer. Looks like we're about to “change” a recession into a depression that will sink the country for years to come.
