CQ Politics took a look at the fundraising numbers of potentially vulnerable House Democrats who are part of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s “Frontline Democrats” program. This group includes New Mexico’s freshmen members Harry Teague and Martin Heinrich.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) responded to the news that Republican ex-Congressman Steve Pearce is going to challenge Democratic Congressman Harry Teague in next year’s 2nd Congressional District rematch between the two southern New Mexico oil men.

According to Roll Call (subscription required), Congressman Martin Heinrich was with some Congressional heavy hitters — and former White House adviser Karl Rove was caught on the outside looking in.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is targeting freshman Democratic Congressman Harry Teague with a radio ad (mp3) that accuses Teague of covering for the House Majority Leader.

All three members of New Mexico’s U.S. House delegation will be among the 29 House Democrats who will get help with fundraising from Congressman Jared Polis.

The two competitive New Mexico congressional districts are clearly a priority to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The DCCC has put in just under $175,000 in the 1st Congressional District and just under $205,000 in CD2 in filings with Tuesday’s date.
In other words, the DCCC just dropped $380,000 in the two key races.
