The official lipstick of Hillary Clinton

Well, Palin may have lasted until the campaign’s final moments, but in the world of retail, Hillary Clinton’s lipstick lasted longer.

Proof? Kriss Cosmetics continues to offer $15 tubes of its luscious “Debate” shade, the perfect match to the lip color that the senator wore during the New Hampshire debate and throughout the remaining weeks of her campaign.

Makeup entrepreneur Kriss Soterion, of New Hampshire, invented the plummy shade just for Clinton’s debate appearance. (See before and after photos here.) Clinton liked the look so well she tried to hire Soterion for the campaign. CNN already had her under contract, though, so she had to refuse.

A portion of “Debate” sales go to fund women’s shelters (and, smart money says, Lt. Gov. Diane Denish, who chaired Clinton’s New Mexico campaign, likely has a tube of it in her purse right now).

In an e-mail interview with the Independent, Soterion said:

We just ordered our lab to mix another vat of “debate” lipstick! Every day it sells, online and at our studio! Sales have not diminished at all … seems to be a staple in my line and looks wonderful on so many women, especially those with Sen. Clinton’s coloring.

In January, Soterion worked her magic on John McCain, but nobody seemed to really notice the difference.

As for Palin’s lipstick color? An exhaustive Web search revealed nothing but rumors about tattooed lip liner, leaving the field open for you to suggest names for the shade. May we suggest you channel some of the creativity Palin employed in naming her children?
