More Ds for Obama? Guv thinks so.

Will we see more super delegates from the Land of Enchantment endorse Barack Obama? Bill Richardson mentioned the possibility in passing.

At the new blog Swing State of Mind, a blog by the Santa Fe Reporter, Dave Maass wrote of Richardson's appearance on Hardball Tuesday night.

"I'm watching MSNBC and Gov. Richardson just said," Maass wrote, "in passing certainty, that we'll see at least another New Mexico super delegate go for Obama."

Maass updated his blog post with the exact quote from the transcript of the show:

Now, I believe, Chris, after Indiana, after North Carolina, the primaries next week, I think you're going to see not just those coming primaries, but you're going to see a lot of new super delegates come forth and go with Senator Obama. Senator Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico, a member of the Senate, just moved that way. I think you're going to see many more in the southwest, some in my state.

There are three super delegates who have not pledged their vote at this time.

U.S. Rep Tom Udall, New Mexico Democratic Party Chair Brian Colón and the add-on delegate Native American Voter Alliance organizer Laurie Weahkee have yet to endorse either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.

Maass says it may be possible that all three declare for Obama; Udall campaigned with Richardon, Maass has heard Colón is "leaning towards Obama," and Weahkee is a bit of an unknown. Native Americans, however, have so far backed Obama in the state.

The Native American Times endorsed Obama as has Benny Shendo Jr., a former two-term tribal lieutenant governor and current candidate for the US House District 3 seat.

So far, Obama has the support of three New Mexico super delegates: Gov. Bill Richardson, Sen. Jeff Bingaman and former Oklahoma Sen. Fred Harris.

Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, has the support of Lt. Gov. Diane Denish, Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez, DNC member Mary Gail Gwaltney, DNC member Raymond Sanchez, DNC member Annadelle Sanchez and DNC member Christine Trujillo.
