State police sergeant resigns as a result of last month’s fatal hit-and-run in Santa Fe
The state police sergeant who was a passenger in the car that struck and killed a pedestrian before Thanksgiving has resigned, the Albuquerque Journal reports. Meanwhile, the Journal also has this ironic piece of news: Police were the victims in a brazen theft as someone stole weapons out of Sandoval and Bernalillo counties’ sheriff vehicles as well as out of a State Police vehicle.
Everyone by now knows that the first day of the Rail Runner running to Santa Fe had some delays caused by signal switch problems. But there’s more. This from the Santa Fe New Mexican: A southboard train struck a cow, causing a delay. That said, Journal columnist Leslie Linthicum officially counts herself a Rail Runner fan.
Finally, a Las Cruces man incarcerated for more than a month at the Dona Ana County Detention Center in a case of mistaken identity has sued the county, the Las Cruces Sun News reports.
